2020 has been a year that has unpacked so much that none
would have predicted but..
How do we respond?
You know many people have postulated about the
current trend in the world post COVID 19, like the world will never be the
same, which is true and I do think so too, but things are made are even dire
with situation we as a people find ourselves in Nigeria, with price of
Petroleum which is our major source of revenue going done every day, Naira our
currency is already losing value to the Dollar, there are already news of
salary cut and retrenchment in different sectors of the economy and some
self-employed people don’t know if they still have a business to resume to or
not, even some political appointees salaries are being cut in some states. The
whole picture and scenario looks bleak and hopeless.
But as people of God and members of the Kingdom of
Heaven, how do we live or react and what should we believe even at this times,
because what we belief will determine our expectation and outcome.
Below is what was impressed in my heart and to
remind ourselves of the truth we know and to do them this season and beyond:
Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of
these things, though ye know them,
and be established in the present truth. – 2Peter 1:12
Do not Fear:
With all the media blitz this novel virus is
generating and different conspiracy theories coming up, and really there are
more than enough information to make us panic, is it the number of deaths being
announced regularly or the rate that people are getting infected, or that we do
not know how long this will take. In all these and more we have a commandment
from the Lord that says DO NOT FEAR, or do I say we should not give in to fear,
Fear is a spirit and it has torment, we are made of a different Spirit. Fear
comes by hearing just as faith comes by hearing, you might need to shut down
the source of what you’re hearing that’s feeding fear into the system.
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye
have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. – Romans
8:15
In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from
oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come
near thee. – Isaiah 54:14-14
A reading, meditation/confession of Psalm 91 will be beneficial.
Believe God:
Isa. 53:1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD
revealed?
The
Arm ( symbolizes His strength/power) is revealed or put to work for those who
believe His report His Word), to believe a report one
must get the report, read the report and start aligning our thoughts to agree
with the report.
There is no better time than now to get into God’s Word and open up our
heart to hear Him and receive from the Spirit.
Even though the situation looks stormy, trusting Him is vital and know
that He knows what He is doing about all that concerns us
Trust
in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own
understanding.
In
all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. – Proverbs 3:5-6
We should keep believing God, don’t quit on Him,
and hold on to what He had said to you, before now, don’t change now because of
the prevailing circumstances, this is the time to remind ourselves of His Word
spoken to our heart. God knows about this situation well ahead of time, COVID
19 with all changes it brings, Heaven is not in panic mode now! And this is
just too small to derail God's plan for your life.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love
God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
– Romans 8:28
Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be
even as it was told me.
– Acts 27:25 (listen to @inyangokutinyang on Facebook, there is
a series of teaching that will help more on the above scripture)
Watch your
mouth!
Isa. 8:11 For the LORD spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that
I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,
Isa. 8:12 Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall
say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.
Be careful what you lend your voice to, matter how
glaring the report or how damming the news is, so far it's not in line with
what God have told you, DO NOT give it a voice, if you can’t say what God has
said, it’s better to just keep quiet, and walk away.
It’s better we sieve the kind of information,
opinion, analysis we dwell on at this time, get all the facts, be knowledgeable
on what is happening in the country and around the world, but guard your heart.
……. a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; - Ecclesiastes 3:7
Don’t Keep
Quiet!
……. a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; - Ecclesiastes 3:7
Though I say watch your mouth, this doesn’t mean
keep quiet and not say anything, and just let thoughts ravage your mind, we
have to speak boldly and loudly too, but only in agreement of that the Word of
God has declared. The way not to take though is by saying.
We
having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and
therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak; - 2Cor. 4:13
what
we believe based on what He has said should drive what we say, not just when we
pray, but even in our discussion.
Let
your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as
ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
So
that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man
shall do unto me. – Hebrew 13: 5-6
So
that we may boldly say,
The Lord is my
helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
This
shows that what we can say boldly should be determine by what he has said, no
more no less.
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that
promised;) – Hebrews
10:23
Be led!
A lot of opinion is out in the public place giving suggestion on what
to expect and how to prepare for the new world there are divergent opinions or
what to do and how to reposition but in all of this, let us know that we are
first spirit beings that have a soul and live in a body, In the light of this
we cannot do like every Tom, Dick and Harry out there, we are to live from the
inside out, being empowered by the Holy Spirit. Let’s us learn to lean on the
guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into
all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that
shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come – John
16:13
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of
God. – Romans 8:14
I believe we should follow the One who knows the way, the One who can
see the past, present and the future at a time and has promised to make all
things work together for our good.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love
God, to them who are the called according to his
purpose. - Romans 8:28
